The undersigned, herein referred to as "Cardholder," understands that the Tiger 1 Card
is the official Clemson University ID Card and agrees to terms listed in sections 1 and 2.
The cardholder may additionally choose to open an optional TigerStripe Account, herein
referred to as "Account," and agrees to be bound by all of the terms and conditions set
forth herein if so chosen. The Account will be administrated by the Tiger 1 Card Office,
a division of Student Affairs of Clemson University, located at Fike Recreation Center
Lobby, Clemson, SC 29634-4059.
The mechanism for accessing the Cardholder's Account shall be the Tiger 1 Card, herein referred
to as "Card." The Cardholder must present his/her Card at the time of use in order to purchase
products or services.
- The Card is the property of Clemson University and is non-transferable.
- The Card may be confiscated from Cardholder as a result of inappropriate or illegal use.
- A lost, stolen or unauthorized Card must be reported immediately in one of the following ways:
- In person at the Tiger 1 Card Office;
- By telephone at (864) 656-0763; or
- Online at the
Suspend Your Card webpage.
The Cardholder will be responsible for all usage of the Card prior to proper notification of the
Tiger 1 Card Office as provided herein.
- A charge of $20 will be imposed for lost all lost cards. Stolen cards with proof of loss
(ie a police report) required at time of replacement will cost $10 otherwise the cost to
replace a stolen card is $20. Damaged cards presented at time of replacement will cost $10.
No charge will be imposed for a card that breaks due to normal wear and tear or for a card on
which the magnetic stripe no longer works
- The Account is a record of pre-deposited funds accessed by the Cardholder for the purchase
of products and services. There is no daily limit on the number of purchases that may be made
and debited; however, no debits or charges shall exceed the amount of deposited funds.
No interest shall be paid on any balance in the Account.
- The Cardholder understands and agrees that the Account shall not be used as a credit card or
to obtain cash advances.
- The Cardholder understands and agrees that the Account is non-transferable.
- The Account will be activated automatically upon receipt by the Tiger 1 Card Office of an
initial deposit. Deposits may be made as follows:
- In person at the Tiger 1 Card Office with cash, check, money order, traveler's check,
MasterCard, Visa or Discover card;

By mail with a check or money order only;

By telephone with a credit card only;
- Payroll deduction; and
-
Download.
After initial activation, additional deposits may be made at any time during office hours,
Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm.
There are no charges assessed to the Cardholder for any transactions; however, a check
presented for deposit to an Account which is returned due to insufficient funds will
result in a $25 service charge.
Merchandise may be accepted for return in accordance with the refund policy in effect at
the place of purchase of the products or services. Any refunds shall be credited to the
Cardholder's Account; no cash refunds will be made for any purchase made with the Card.
- The Account will be closed if the Cardholder ceases to be a student or employee of
Clemson University. For a student, the Account will be closed and any remaining balance
will be refunded only after completing the necessary form at the Tiger 1 Card Office.
An employee may close the Account at any time by completing the necessary form at the
Tiger 1 Card Office. Clemson University will mail a check in the amount of the remaining
balance to the Cardholder at the permanent address on record with the University.
No refunds will be issued for Account balances of $5 or less.
- The Tiger 1 Card Office reserves the right to close any Account that is inactive for
eighteen (18) months or more. Unclaimed balances in accounts that are inactive for more than
eighteen (18) months will be credited to a Clemson University Scholarship fund.
If the point-of-sale terminal is equipped to provide receipt, the Cardholder will either receive
a receipt as a matter of course or upon request. It is the Cardholder's responsibility to ensure
that the receipt is correct. An activity statement listing all transactions will be generated
upon request at the Tiger 1 Card Office.
- If there is an error on a receipt or activity statement, or if the Cardholder would like more
information about a specific transaction, the Tiger 1 Card Office may be contacted by telephone
at (864) 656-0763 or by mail within sixty (60) days of noticing the error. In the event of verbal
notification, the Tiger 1 Card Office may require that the Cardholder submit written notification
within ten (10) business days.
- When making a request for an adjustment to the Account, the Cardholder must furnish the following
information:
- The Cardholder's name and Account number;
- A description of the transaction in question and explanation of discrepancy; and
- The dollar amount of the transaction in question.
- The Tiger 1 Card Office will investigate the Cardholder's request and provide a written
decision to the Cardholder within ten (10) business days. If an error is found, the Tiger 1
Card Office will make the necessary adjustments to the Cardholder's Account. If no error is
found, the Tiger 1 Card Office will provide the Cardholder with a written explanation within
three (3) business days of the conclusion of the investigation. The Cardholder may request
copies of the document(s) used to conduct the investigation.
Information about the Cardholder's Account will be disclosed to third parties only for the
following reasons:
- In order to complete a transaction;
- In order to comply with a government agency or court order;
- In conjunction with all other cardholder accounts in the aggregate but not specific
in regard to any individual's account;
- With Cardholder's written permission.
The terms and conditions of the Agreement are effective and remain binding until the
Cardholder is otherwise notified. If any changes are made to the terms and conditions,
the Tiger 1 Card Office shall provide the Cardholder with notice of changes at least
twenty-one (21) days in advance of the effective date. Prior notice need not be given
where immediate change in terms and conditions is necessary to maintain or restore the
security of the Account.
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the
State of South Carolina.
